The 4-year-old Western Ideal mare, who was sent off at odds of 9-1, set fractions of :26.4, :55.2 and 1:24 before scooting home in a :28-second clip en route to a 1-1/2 lengths win over Pacific Philly. Fleeting Flirt N was third in the record-setting performance of 1:52. The previous record of 1:52.1 was held by Casino Bus.
Trained by Mike Hall, Lorrie Please celebrated her ninth win of the year and the 13th of her career. The lion’s share of the purse bumped her lifetime earnings to $114,275.
