Brandon Campbell won five of the eight races at Century Downs on Thursday, June 26, extending his lead atop the drivers’ standings.
Campbell opened the card with a natural hat trick. He provided Keepsgettingbettor ($11.30) with a pocket trip that the Travis Tracey-trained gelding capitalized on, grinding down leader Gonna Funku Up (Mike Hennessy) at the pylons to win in 1:58.2. The winner is owned by Michael Benham.
The reinsman repeated his tactics in the second race, sending Frostfire ($11.20) out from post eight to take the two-hole and maintaining that position into the stretch. The mare took the inside route, rolling by pacesetter Dragons Attitude (Hennessy) down the lane to score in 1:58.1 for trainer Kelly Crump and owner/breeder Stephen Crump.
Campbell once again took the pocket in the third race, finding a seat there with Airline Pilot ($8) after being parked for the first-quarter mile. Airline Pilot took flight on the backstretch and bottomed out the field, taking a sizable margin into the stretch and sailing home to score in 1:55.3. Travis Ellis trains the stallion for Michael Arnold of Mountain View County.
Campbell’s fourth winner came from his barn as Ima Fist Fight ($2.70) brushed and crushed in Race 6. The mare seized command at the midway point and remained resolute on the lead, completing the victory in 1:56.1. Jodi Loftus and Raymond Henry own Ima Fist Fight.
Mister Moose ($5.50) hung on after cutting the mile in the seventh race to complete Campbell’s five-win day. The gelding reached the wire in 1:55.3 to score for trainer Jim Marino and owner JJJ Stables.
Campbell has won 57 races at Century Downs this season, giving him a 15-win cushion over Dave Kelly and Hennessy, who are tied for second with 42. He has reached the winner’s circle 105 times overall in 2025 and is winning at a 29.5 per cent clip.
