Taking command early, odds-on favourite Hall Of Secrets sped away from his competition to win the fastest of two $7,100 divisions for the opening round of the Prospect Series on Saturday (June 27) at Georgian Downs.

Driver David Boughton sent Hall Of Secrets for the lead from post 5 with Hoya Saxa leaving alongside to duck for the pocket. While on the lead, the three-year-old Angus Hall gelding carved fractions of :29.1, 1:00 and 1:29 with his only challenge coming near the final turn when Tymal Tarot advanced first over to apply minor pressure. However Tymal Tarot promptly tired into the last turn as Hall Of Secrets slid clear of Hoya Saxa to win by three lengths in a 1:58.1 mile. Royal Jewels gave chase in third.

Owned by Paul Lindsey, Hall Of Secrets won his first race from three starts this season and his second from 11 overall, earning $10,565. Donald Lindsey trains the $3.60 winner.

In the other Prospect division, Traveller delivered as the 2-5 favourite with a three-wide kick to a 2:01 victory.

Gretzky Seelster set the tempo through splits of :30.3 and 1:01.4 under minimal pressure. Northern Flame, racing fourth, tipped first over up the backside and advanced towards Gretzky Seelster to race within a length of the lead passing three-quarters in 1:31.3. Traveller then began to angle off cover rounding the final turn while Northern Flame inched towards the lead. Straightening for the finish Traveller darted past Northern Flame, kicking away by a length to win while Northern Flame settled for second. Gretzky Seelster faltered to third.

A three-year-old colt by Muscle Mass, Traveller won his third race from four starts this season, earning $10,050. Ronald MacDonald owns and trains the $2.80 winner while Brett MacDonald sat in the bike.
