This July we will celebrate NCAD during the weekend of July 19-21 at racetracks across the country, and to recognize the hard-working caretakers in our industry we have organized a NCAD Photo Contest!
We are asking for photos of caretakers doing what they do best, taking care of the horses! The list of tasks that grooms perform day in and day out is endless, so we are looking for photos that show the different aspects of the job (photos must have been taken after April 1, 2019).
Trainers and owners can submit a photo of one of their outstanding caretakers, or a caretaker can submit a photo of themselves.
Photos can be of caretakers caring for and preparing their horses (grooming, bathing, jogging, paddocking, etc.), mucking stalls, cleaning harness, on the job at the races or at the barn, at home, or on the road!
The caretaker pictured in the winning photo will receive this fabulous prize package:
-
$50 gift certificate to a Canadian racetrack of their choice.
-
Have their photo featured in TROT Magazine.
-
A special race presentation, awarding the winner with a framed enlargement of their winning photo at their local track on NCAD (If you are not present on NCAD we will arrange a presentation for a future date).
Trainers, owners, and caretakers are asked to send photo submissions to Hailey Saunders at [email protected] or in a direct message to the Standardbred Canada Facebook Page.
