NJ Track Sports Betting Bill To Christie

It has been reported that on Thursday, June 26, both chambers of the New Jersey Legislature passed a bill that would legalize sports betting at casinos and racetracks in the state.

An article which appears on the website of the Courier-Post explains that the bill will now head to New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, who has not yet indicated whether he will support the bill or not.

The U.S. Supreme Court announced earlier this week that it would not lift its ban on sports gambling in New Jersey.

The bill’s sponsor, Senator Raymond Lesniak, is challenging the Federal ban, citing the fact that marijuana has been legalized in Washington and Colorado even though Federal bans restricting it are currently in place.
