Im Moving On established a new track record and J.F. Gagne put on a show during what turned out to be a very exciting Sunday program at Alberta Downs

.

Im Moving On knocked four-fifths of a second off the track standard for three-year-old pacing colts when he toured the oval in a $4,400 conditioned event in 1:56. The Joseph O’Brien-trained son of Camystic-Glance Smartly, who was making his first lifetime start for owner Wally Moroz of Edmonton, AB, rallied home in :27.2 to post the win for driver J.F. Gagne. Outlaw Black Gold was the next pacer under the line and Piano Turner grabbed the show dough.

For driver Gagne, the victory was one of five trips to the winner’s circle on the card for the sulky sitter. Three of those winners hailed from his own outfit.

Gagne’s other catch-driving triumph came in the $10,000 Open Pace with Neal Diamonique. The five-year-old son of Real Desire rallied to win in a career-best clocking of 1:51.4 for partners Edward Dhoedt of Edmonton and Ernest Greenwood of St. Alberta, AB. The Lance Ward trainee drilled home in :27.1 to drive away from runner-up Smart Shark and third-place finisher Beach Boy Toy.

It was the fifth win of the season for the pacer, who has won three of his last four outings. The 17-time winner has banked more than $310,000 in his career.
