Back in action in his home province, Euchred wired his top class rivals with ease in the featured $1,675 Winners Over Pace on Friday night (June 26) at Truro Raceway.
Trained by Walter Walker and owned by Inverness' Kayla Habicht Walker, 6-5 favourite Euchred romped to a 5-3/4-length victory over last week's winner Well Did in 1:54.2. Driver Redmond Doucet was reunited with the pacer for the first time since they had teamed up to win the 2019 Johnny Conroy Memorial in September.
The eight-year-old Shadow Play gelding, who started his current campaign in Ontario with a January 3 victory over Western Fair Raceway, is now two-for-four this year and boasts 54 lifetime wins with almost $135,000 banked in purses.
The well-traveled pacer has earned three wins from 10 starts at Truro -- one of 18 tracks he has competed at during his career.
