Cinamony (George Brennan, $11.40) eschewed an early seat and went the distance Friday night, winning Yonkers Raceway’s featured $42,000 Filly and Mare Open Handicap Pace.
A week after hitting town and matching the track record for her weight class, Cinamony — ordered outside all but one of her eight rivals — was an early third before working around Hot List (Brian Sears).
Cinamony, who scorched the Westchester earth to the tune of 1:51.3 last Friday, didn’t have to go nearly as fast here (:27, :57, 1:25.1, 1:53). She held off a two-move effort from eight-hole assigned Venus Delight (Jason Bartlett), whipping the slight 2-1 choice by a length and a quarter.
Hot List saved the bottom of the ticket, with Jonsie Jones (Tyler Buter) and a first-up For The Ladies N (Eric Carlson) settling for the remainder.
For fifth choice Cinamony, a four-year-old daughter of Art Official co-owned by trainer Ron Burke (as Burke Racing) and Weaver Bruscemi, it was her third win in seven seasonal starts. The exacta paid $53, with the triple returning $190.50.
