Jepson Hanover extended his Maritime win streak to six with another front-stepping score in the featured $1,225 Winners Over Pace at Truro Raceway on Sunday afternoon

.

With Danny Romo in the bike, Jepson Hanover left from Post 4 and cleared the lead ahead of inside starter and eventual third place finisher Rum Tuff Customer (Darren Crowe) at the opening quarter in :28. The odds-on favourite was pressured through middle splits of :57.2 and 1:26.2 by the parked out Putnams Force (Ernest Laffin), but kicked away in the stretch with a :29.3 final frame for the 1:56 triumph by two and a quarter lengths. Putnams Force stayed for second.

Jepson Hanover, who began his career competing on the Woodbine Entertainment Circuit in Ontario, has won all six of his starts on the East Coast since joining Danny Romo's stable in May. Today's win was his fastest effort from the six starts.

The three-year-old Art Major-July Hot Mindale gelding has won seven of 19 starts this year while banking $22,583 for owner Paul Gray of Pugwash, N.S. The victory was his eighth lifetime and bumped his earnings to $58,903.
