Outlawpositivchrg and trainer-driver Terry Gallant sent the chalk players home happy, capturing the feature on the Saturday night card of harness racing at Red Shores Racetrack at the Charlottetown Driving Park
- the $9,000 Cecil Ladner Memorial.
Gallant had his 'charge' fired up from Post 6 and made every call a winning one, on the engine through fractions of :28.1, :58.3 and 1:27.2 before closing comfortably in :28.2 to hold off a pesky St Pete Star (Marc Campbell) by nearly two lengths in 1:55.4. Longshot B J Cruiser (Gary Chappell) closed from the the back of the pack to grab show dough.
Fred Lamont owns Outlawpositivchrg, a six-year-old veteran son of Blissfull Hall-Electromagnetic, who is now 6-for-9 on the season and a winner of nearly $125,000 lifetime.
Vincent Hickey's C L Eighty won the $3,400 Ladner Consolation for trainer-driver Ken Arsenault in 1:57.1.
Switching over to the trot, Katies Victory made up for a miscue in last week's $1,400 Open Trot to best the boys in this week's renewal by virtue of a 2:01 score for trainer-owner Clark Smith and driver Ken Murphy.
