The guest list for Legends Day at Clinton Raceway on June 30 reads as a who’s who of the past century in Canadian harness racing.

While the 12th edition of the biennial event showcases eight drivers and five special guests from the Canadian Horse Racing Hall Of Fame (CHRHF), the addition of a CHRHF Reunion during Legends Day extends that list of extraordinary individuals and their families to nearly 100.

Fans can visit with reunion guests from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. under the tent on the tarmac.

Among the renunion guests is Hall Of Fame announcer Frank Salive, stepping out of retirement for the occasion to call the featured HPIbet Legends Trot.

Legends Day serves as a major fundraiser for the Clinton community with more than $330,000 raised for the local hospital and schools. This year’s recipient is the Clinton Public Hospital Foundation.

Fundraising is generated through several initiatives, including a large online auction, 50/50 draw, raffles and donations and sponsorships. All donations and sponsorships are sent in their entirety directly to the benefitting organization.

The race card will also feature eliminations for the Kin Pace. The Bill Galvin Racing Alliance will be onsite to showcase the Drive To Win virtual reality harness driving experience.

Post time is 1:30 p.m.
