After falling short against the top class at Exhibition Park Raceway last week, Fall Bliss avenged that loss with a rock-solid effort on Saturday afternoon (June 24).
Shifted in two posts from the six hole with the scratch of the two inside horses, Fall Bliss (Dr. Mitchell Downey) was intent on making every call a winning one. Over the track rated five seconds off, Fall Bliss hit the quarter-mile marker in a brisk :29.1, repelled the challenge of HP Bushido Dragjet (Doug Folkins Jr.) at the 1:00 half and another from Ultimatelyhandsome (Scott Hubbard) through a 1:29.1 third panel before pacing home in :30.4 to trip the timer in 2:00. HP Bushido Dragjet nabbed runner-up honours with Jackson K Down (Stephen Mason) completing the triactor.
Owned by Mike Downey of Saint John, N.B., nine-year-old Fall Bliss (Blissfull Hall-Fall Festival) notched his 38th lifetime win and fifth on the season. He's rapidly approaching the $200,000 mark in career earnings.
