Hour Lavec romped to a six length victory in the featured $7,000 Preferred 3 Trot at Hiawatha Horse Park on Saturday night.
Trainer-driver Bill Davis sent Hour Lavec from second to first after the opening quarter and the favourite drew off to win in 1:55.4. Solo Victory and Twin B Rawley rounded out the top three finishers.
The six-year-old Mr Lavec-Magic Hour gelding gave Davis a double following stablemate Sunset Luck's victory. The winner of five races in 16 seasonal starts is owned by Jeffrey and Debbie Elchuk of Surrey, B.C.
In other action, eight-year-old pacing gelding More Again notched his fifth straight win as he rallied three-wide and nosed out tempo-setter Bob Watts in 1:55 flat with Alfred Carroll in the bike for trainer Ray Farmer. Farmer also scored back-to-back wins on the card with 13-year-old Tattlers Top Gun winning for the seventh time this season in 1:56.3 with Nicholas Steward aboard.
Fresh off a 1:56.2 track record performance for aged trotting mares last weekend, Wynter scored her third consecutive victory on Saturday, this time stopping the clock in 1:59 as she moved up in class. Lawrence Gibbons trains and co-owns the four-year-old miss, who was driven by Don Rankin Jr.
