Ontario sired Golden Terror won the $10,000 Open Pace for the second week in a row in 1:54.1 at Buffalo Raceway Saturday night
. The win was the ninth in 20 attempts this season for Golden Terror.
Golden Terror ($2.80), leaving from pylons in the field of six and driven by last year’s national dash champion Dan Noble, re-took the lead from eventual third place finisher Mark It On Ice (John Cummings Jr.) just past the quarter-pole. Second place finisher Goodnite Goodluck (Kevin Cummings) made a valiant try to catch the winner in the stretch, but came up one and three-quarter lengths short at the wire.
The five-year-old Western Terror gelding out of the Artiscape mare Bell Amis Love is trained by John Mungillo and owned by Team Italia Racing Stables of Buffalo, New York. The $5,000 share of the winning purse put Golden Terror’s season bankroll at $59,334 and lifetime earnings at $130,726.
