David Kelly had the hot barn on Tuesday (June 23) at Century Downs, sending three of his trainees to the winner’s circle on the nine-race card.
Kelly’s afternoon peaked in the second-half of the card, where he steered four-straight winners including the three from his stable. Make Some Waves ($4.40) gave Kelly his first win on the afternoon, taking a $5,400 conditioned pace by a head in 1:56.3.
Following a victory behind Lady Neigh Neigh for trainer Chris Lancaster, Kelly steered his pupil True Horizon ($4.80) to a wire-to-wire win in 1:56.4 as the 6-5 favourite. Kelly finished completed his training hat trick with a five-and-three-quarter length romp by Hf Thegreatpumpkin ($21.60) in a 1:54.3 mile.
