Jason Ryan wasted no time securing his 1,000th career driving win on Saturday (June 22) at Hanover Raceway, reaching the milestone in the evening's first race.
Aboard Allan Breadner's D Gs Letitgo ($27.00) in the $4,600 conditioned pace for fillies and mares, Ryan angled first-over nearing a 1:01.2 half mile before applying pressure up the backstretch. D Gs Letitgo was able to wear down pacesetter St Lads Chloe (Alex Lilley) by a neck in 2:02.4.
The Guelph, Ont.-based Ryan, who began driving in 2009, enjoyed his best season in 2015, when he drove 206 winners in a New York-based campaign.
Ryan Holliday took top driving honours with five wins on the 10-race Hanover card, teaming up with Mae Belle Duke ($5.90, 1:58.4), Zen Da Ballykeel ($8.20, 1:58.1), Mystery Midnight ($6.10, 1:59.1), Fluentocity ($9.70, 2:00.2) and Lautner Seelster ($12.90, 1:58.1).
