Anaffairtoremember stalked Cowgirl Hall from the pocket, then blew by her inside to capture Tuesday’s $18,000 Filly & Mare Preferred Handicap Trot at The Meadows.
A storm midway through the card rendered the surface sloppy and forced a delay of approximately 50 minutes. After the interruption, Anaffairtoremember flashed some Lightning Lane magic of her own, blazing through for Aaron Merriman to down the first-over Whata Donato by a length in 1:54.2. Cowgirl Hall saved show.
Bill Bercury owns and trains Anaffairtoremember, a five-year-old daughter of Angus Hall-Val Lee Woman who extended her career bankroll to $372,479.
Elsewhere on the 14-race program, Kanthaka won at first asking in 1:58, fastest this year by a two-year-old colt trotter on a five-eighths-mile track. Dave Palone drove for trainer Chris Beaver, who owns the son of Triumphant Caviar-Elena with Wilbur Lang. It was one of three victories on the card for Palone.
