Trainer Alex MacQuarrie put on a training clinic during Sunday’s 11-race card at Inverness Raceway thanks to a trio of trips to the winner’s circle.
The Inverness, Nova Scotia resident pulled off a 35-1 stunner in Race 2 when he guided Willy B Cheery to a wire-to-wire score in 2:02.2. He then won in front-stepping fashion with Havana Dream in Race 5 in a time of 2:01.4. He completed the hat trick with Dontlooknow in Race 7. The gelding went to the front and didn’t look back en route to a one-length triumph in 2:01.4.
MacQuarrie boosted his lifetime win total to 183 by the end of the day while increasing his lifetime earnings to $120,067.
