Speed Show In Scioto's Open Events

Twenty horses raced in two divisions of the Open at Scioto Downs Racino Saturday and a total of $40,000 in purses was paid out for these top class horses.

The first division was won by Js Six Pak Attack and driver Jeremy Smith in 1:51.2. The Jonathan Crowe trainee has now won seven races in 17 starts this year while earning $25,310 for owner Lester Hollon. Carol’s Comet was second and Fiftytwoflat was third.

Lucky Lime was driven to victory by Kyle Ater in the other division of the Open. The pair won in 1:51.4 for trainer Dean Glispie and owner Kirk Nichols. With three wins in nine starts so far in 2013, the four-year-old gelding of Rocknroll Hanover has $24,635 won for the year. The FF Jasper just beat out Redbud for second.

There were five claims in on the evening at Scioto, including three in one race, the $10,000 claimer (with allowances). Multiple claims were entered in for race favorite All Shuttle who was trained and driven by Kayne Kauffman. The pair won in 1:52.2 before being taken by Barry Langley and Darren Taneyhill.

Racing continues Wednesday, June 26 and there will be four racing cards on the week that start with a first post of 6:30 p.m.
