The spotlight shone brightly on three-year-old pacers at the Charlottetown Driving Park on Saturday as the half-mile oval hosted a pair of rich stakes finals.

The richest affair of the day – the $25,000 Maritime Breeders Final for pacing fillies – went to Ramblinglily and driver Brodie MacPhee in 1:56.1. The daughter of Articulator-Crafty Jewel rallied to the lead shortly past the mid-way point and simply drew away from the competition in 1:56.1. She was 3-1/4 lengths better than runner-up Rose Valley. Putnams Kream finished third.

Trainer Allan Jones of Riverview co-owns the pacing lass with Normand Leger of Shediac, NB. The filly has hit the board in all four starts of the season including a pair of victories. The six-time winner has stashed away earnings in excess of $33,000 to date.

Untouchable One extended his winning streak to four-in-a-row thanks to his 1:56.1 triumph in the $23,700 Maritime Breeders Final for the colts and geldings. The son of Carlspur-Bolero Tam Tam went to the front and didn’t’ look back after distributing quarter calls of :28.2, :58.1 and 1:27 before using a :29.1 closing quarter to seal the deal by 2-1/2 lengths. Rose Valley was next best with Putnams Kream taking home the show dough.

Kenny Arsenault engineered the win with the Sean Dooley pupil who is owned by Dooley Boys Racing Stable of Halifax, NS. He’s 3-fo-3 this year after going 10-2-0 from 12 starts last season. The gelding has earned close to $68,000 in his career.

Proven Lover crushed the foes he faced in the $8,000 Cecil Ladner Memorial Pacing Series. The nine-year-old son of Real Desire-Loving Proof whacked out intervals of :26.4, :55.3 and 1:26.1 before humming home in :27.4 to secure the seven-length tally. John ‘The Hitman’ Holmes guided the pacer to the win for trainer Thane Mann and owner Casey Gavin of Tignish, PE.

The win improved the pacer’s seasonal record to 3-0-1 from six trips to the track, and it sent his lifetime earnings climbing to $448,107.
