Clinton Raceway hosted another successful fundraiser Sunday afternoon. The Big Bike for Heart and Stroke, which took place prior to and during the 10-race card, raised upwards of $25,000 towards Heart and Stroke Research.

The Heart and Stroke Big Bike was a team event geared towards community organizations, companies and groups, and teams were made up of 29 enthusiastic riders – and each rider was committed to raise a minimum of $50.

A driver is provided by the Foundation and riders pedal through their community in support of heart disease and stroke research. While Clinton Raceway has played host to the event for the past six years, this was the second time that it has been held on track on a race day.

Three teams took to the track before the races began, with a break after the third race for another team. At the end of the ten race card a total of nine teams - combining for seven full bikes - went one or two laps of the track while raising funds for Heart and Stroke Research.

Teams of riders from across Huron County managed to raise upwards of $25,000 – an astonishing number - for this single fundraiser. Riders enjoyed an afternoon at the races, and a trackside BBQ as part of the event.

Live racing returns next Sunday and Monday as a special Canada Day double header will feature a pair of Ontario Sires Stakes events. Post time for both days of racing is 1:30 p.m.
