Dixie Lullaby shot to the top and never looked back en route to a sharp score in Wednesday’s $7,500 Fillies & Mares Preferred 3 for pacers at Grand River Raceway.
Scott Coulter powered Dixie Lullaby to the lead from Post 2, and together they led the group through panels of :27.3, :56.1 and 1:24.2. A :29.2 closing quarter earned that duo the win by a neck over the late-rushing runner-up, Jump Jive And Jam. SR Beach Babe took home third prize.
Trainer Kyle Fellows of Rockwood, Ont. co-owns the four-year-old daughter of If I Can Dream-Dixie Dew Bluechip with Carl Stafford of Conception Bay, NL. It was the second win of the season – and the 12th to date – for the career winner in excess of $75,000.
