Toronto Maple Leafs President and General Manager Brian Burke will be the honourary drawmaster for this year’s event.
Burke, who was ranked no. 1 by The Hockey News in the magazine’s Annual GM Rankings in March of 2008, managed the Anaheim Ducks from 2005 – 2008 and led them to their first Stanley Cup championship in 2007.
He was named to the Leafs’ top job in late November of last season. Earlier last summer, he was named General Manager of the 2010 U.S. Olympic Hockey Team, and was named a recipient of the 2008 Lester Patrick Award for outstanding service to hockey in the United States.
Burke is known for telling like it is and is widely considered one of the most well respected and often quoted General Managers in the National Hockey League.
