Millionaire trotting filly Joviality S, the Breeders Crown champ at two and now undefeated in her sophomore campaign, will take on the boys in her next test.

Trainer Marcus Melander told Trot Insider that Joviality S will compete in the MGM Yonkers Trot, first leg of the Trotting Triple Crown. Eliminations will be drawn today (Monday, June 20) and take place on Friday, June 24 with the $300,000 guaranteed final scheduled for Friday, July 1 at Yonkers Raceway.

The Chapter Seven-Pasithea Face S filly won the $187,500 Empire Breeders Classic for three-year-old trotting fillies in a career-best 1:51 last Friday at Vernon Downs, just missing Atlanta's track record by two-fifths of a second and going over the million-dollar mark in career earnings. The win was her third straight this year, following back-to-back New York Sire Stakes victories at Yonkers and Vernon.

"She's been great all three starts this year," Melander told Trot Insider of the decision to compete with the colts. "And she goes around Yonkers very well, which she showed in her first start of this year. So when she came out of the race good on Friday, when we jogged her Sunday morning we decided to go in the Yonkers Trot."

Joviality S is owned by Courant Inc. of Delray Beach, Florida.

She won nine of her 12 starts as a two-year-old, including the New York Sire Stakes Championship, Kentuckiana, International Stallion Stakes, Breeders Crown and Goldsmith Maid. The only time she has finished out of the top two was a fourth-place in the Jim Doherty.
