Screen Test put forth a dominating performance as he captured the Saturday night (June 20) $3,200 Preferred Pace at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park and moved driver Corey MacPherson closer to a career milestone.

MacPherson sent the Ron Gass trainee to the lead through a :28.3 first quarter and never looked back through splits of :58.2 and 1:27.4 to stop the clock 1:54.4.

The win was number 18 of Screen Test’s career for owners Kickin Horse Stable and William Andrew. Lisburn was second with Simple Kinda Man completing the triactor.

MacPherson had three wins on the card as the Cornwall driver now sits at three victories shy of the 1,000-win plateau. His other wins came with Soccer Hanover in 1:55.4 for Leith Waite and with three-year-old pacing colt Tobins Rebel in a career-best 1:55.3 trip for conditioner Gord Ford.

David Dowling had the hot hands on the program with four wins on the card. The Warren Grove driver had a pair of victories from the Earl Watts stable of Hampshire with Shadow Of A Daut in 1:57.1 and in a maiden breaking score with Notyourtypicalman in 2:00.2.

Dowling was also in the bike as Tyne Valley trainer Kyle Williams scored his first lifetime training win on the card with Zack The Men in 1:58.1. Dowling’s other victory was with Silverhill Buddy in 1:58.2 for David Myers of Charlottetown.

Total handle for the program was $62,335. Live racing continues next week with programs Thursday and Saturday evenings at Red Shores Charlottetown and on Friday evening (June 26) for the season opener at Red Shores Summerside.
