On Tuesday (June 19) at Running Aces, the Margaret Audley-trained and James Yoder-driven Gold Star Mysti ($3.20) captured the $13,000 Open Handicap for pacing mares from Post 5 with a gate-to-wire performance in 1:51.4 for Gold Star Farm.
After having started from Post 6, the Nick Roland-driven Kiss On The Lips worked out a two-hole trip through the fractions (:27.4, :55.4, 1:24) and finished almost four lengths back in second. Gold Star Mysti, who kicked home in :27.4, has been nominated to Running Aces’ Dan Patch FFA Pace in July, where she will take on the boys in the track’s premier race of the season.
Driver Steve ‘The Magician’ Wiseman posted another grand-slam of winners on the Tuesday card, while Lemoyne ‘Mooney’ Svendsen and Dean ‘Bobcat’ Magee both completed driving doubles.
Live racing at Running Aces will return this Saturday (June 23), and the card’s first race will roll in behind the starter at 6:00 p.m. (CDT).
