Y Dat spotted the field six lengths at the half, then roared home with a wide move to pull off a 12-1 upset in Monday’s $22,500 Preferred Trot at the Meadows
.
As is his custom, Y Dat got away slowly for Tony Hall, idling in seventh before launching his decisive three-wide bid. He collared Rembrandt Spur in mid-stretch and defeated that rival by 1-1/2 lengths in 1:54.4. Eagle Dream completed the ticket.
Casey Koza trains Y Dat, a five-year-old Broadway Hall-Tady gelding who has finished first or second 13 times in 16 starts this year, and owns with Danielle Snyder.
Eric Ledford and Mike Wilder each drove four winners on the 14-race card.
Tuesday’s program at The Meadows features a $5,000-guaranteed pool for the Pick 4, which spans races 11-14.
