Returning to his old stomping grounds at Sudbury Downs, Daddy Warbucks captured the featured $6,000 Not Listed Preferred Pace during the meet-opening card at the Chelmsford, Ont. half-mile track on Sunday afternoon.

Owned by the Barrie-based Belanger Racing Stables, Daddy Warbucks circled a field of five to win the seventh race in 1:58 flat by one length over Shiny Mach. Officernagentleman rounded out the top three finishers five lengths behind. The track was rated 'good' with a one second variant.

The six-year-old Western Hanover gelding is trained and driven by Gerry Belanger. He earned his second win of the season and 21st lifetime.

Sent postward as the race favourite, Daddy Warbucks paid $4.70 to win.

Live racing will take place at Sudbury Downs every Sunday afternoon until October 13.
