Skippy rallied home from mid-pack to win this week's edition of the top pacing class at Exhibition Park Raceway in a season's best 1:59.3 during Saturday afternoon's nine-race card

Driver-trainer Dale Spence guided the six-year-old Camluck gelding to the three-quarter length score in the $1,600 Winners Over Pace over Md Hardlys Success, with Wayne Watson aboard, and the Mark Haig-driven Man In Pink. The winning duo returned $5.20 to their backers.
Skippy, who won the top pace at EPR two weeks ago and has collected five wins on the year, is owned by Spence and Harold Defazio of Upper Golden Grove, N.B.
Horseman Michael Downey had the most wins of the day scoring a training-driving triple beginning with three-year-old Carlspur filly Gord Girl (2:04.4, $7.70) wiring her foes in the second race. She recorded her third straight win for the Downey Racing Stable. Five-year-old Yankee Cruiser gelding Cruisinfull Throttle (2:03.4, $10.70) circled the six-horse fifth race field for a close victory while seven-year-old Cammibest mare Slim N Sleek (2:00, $77) front-stepped her way to a big upset win in the final dash for the grounds' top pacing mares. Both Cruisinfull Throttle and Slim N Sleek are owned by Dr. Mitchell Downey.
