Pretty Kadabra struck the front and then struck a pose at Grand River Raceway on Wednesday evening. The daughter of Kadabra-Pretty Muscles was three lengths the

best in the featured $10,500 Preferred 2 Trot. It was her second straight victory at the Elora half-miler.

Once Pretty Kadabra took control after the :30.1 opening quarter, it was lights out for the competition. With Stuart Sowerby in tow, she maintained a lead of at least three lengths on the field as she raced past the half in 1:02, three-quarters in 1:32 and to the wire in 2:03.2. The 7-1 fifth choice was followed by Its On My Tab (Scott Zeron) and favourite Chinnys Wings (Doug Bowins).

Sandra Houghton trains the winning mare for Grimsbry's Aristi Varsakis. Pretty Kadabra has won a third of her 15 starts this season for earnings of $28,965. With tonight's victory, her lifetime record now reads 19-10-6 in 56 starts with earnings totaling $107,195.
