Odds-on choice Sly Eleanor N swept to the lead moving to the final turn and sped clear of her competition to post a 1:52.2 victory in the $10,000 Fillies & Mares Preferred 3 Pace at Georgian Downs on Saturday (June 19).

Leaving from post 1, Sly Eleanor N landed in the pocket as Casimir Swamp Girl grabbed the lead to a :28.2 first quarter. Driver J. R. Plante kept Sly Eleanor N settled through a :57 half but promptly launched the eight-year-old daughter of Mcardle from second as the field moved to the backstretch. Sly Eleanor N blitzed the pacesetter as the pace quickened to three-quarters in 1:24.2 and emerged victorious from the battle, surging three lengths clear of Casimir Swamp Girl to the finish. So Frisky finished third.

Co-owned by trainer Gary Lance with Brian Samis, Sly Eleanor N won her third race from 18 starts this season and her 17th from 85 overall, earning $237,105. She paid $2.80 to win.
