Shesasmokinlady quarter-poled to the front and widened her lead late en route to her third straight victory in Monday’s $20,000 Filly & Mare Preferred Handicap Pace at The Meadows.
Shesasmokinlady withstood a serious challenge from the first-over Lakeisha Hall and, under the urging of trainer/driver Ray Paver, drew off in mid-stretch to down the rallying Hurricane Calleigh by 1-1/2 lengths in 1:51.2. Lakeisha Hall saved show.
Iris Horowitz bred and owns Shesasmokinlady, a four-year-old daughter of Mcardle-Smokin Pistol who soared over $200,000 in career earnings.
Dave Palone piloted three winners on the 12-race card.
