General Luckypercy converted a pocket trip into a winning performance to claim the Thursday night feature at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Ron Matheson was in the bike behind General Luckypercy for owners Jack Brown, Stratford and Jodi Lynn Matheson. Jackie Matheson does the training. The time of the mile was 1:59.1 over a rain soaked track rated as good with a two-second variant. Cool One was second, with fraction setter Andro Madi third.
It was the second winner of the night for team Matheson. Ron Matheson is only three victories away from career win 1,000.
In other action, I Aint No Lady (Corey MacPherson) and Diamond Mine (Jack Panting) won their respective trot classes on the program. MacPherson also drove Shock The Rock to his third win in-a-row in the TRA Atlantic Pace.
The evening’s finale featured a dead-heat for win when Dreaming, under the command of Norman Myers, and First Art Down, with Ken Murphy in the bike, landed on the finish line together. It was Murphy’s second winner on the program.
