Since relocating from Ontario to the East Coast in May, Jepson Hanover has done nothing but win. The three-year-old son of Art Major-July Hot Mindale notched his fifth consecutive victory on Sunday afternoon at Truro Raceway
, winning the $1,225 Winners Over Pace by five and a half lengths.
Driver Clare MacDonald sent the gelding to command from third before the half-mile mark and drew away from the field of eight to score in 1:57.2 for trainer Danny Romo and owner Paul Gray of Pugwash, N.S. San Marco Hanover (Ryan Ellis) and St Lads Dagwood (Ernest Laffin) finished second and third respectively.
Jepson Hanover, now five-for-five in the Maritimes, has won at Charlottetown Driving Park, Summerside Raceway and Truro. He has won six of 18 starts this year after only earning one win from 15 starts as a freshman. His career earnings now stand at $58,352.
