Guy Gagnon had his crew firing on all cylinders Thursday evening at Rideau Carleton Raceway by virtue of a three-win performance on the 10-race card.
The training triple went hand in hand with a four-win driving performance for Gagnon who kicked off his big night with a win in the opener behind the Mandy Archer-trained Journalistic in 1:54. The rest of his wins came with horses from his outfit.
He was back to victory lane in Race 2 thanks to a narrow triumph with Archies Star (2:00). Stablemate Tuggingoncredit (1:54.4) was a wire-to-wire winner in Race 5 and Kinda Like Her (1:55) used the same approach for Gagnon to capture Race 9.
The three-win performance leaves Gagnon just eight wins away from the 1,500-win club as a trainer. He recently surpassed $7.5 million in career earnings.
