It has been reported that on Tuesday, June 17 in Michigan, the Jackson County Board of Commissioners unanimously voted to lease the track at the Jackson County Fairgrounds to Jackson Raceway, LLC, which is owned by Brett Boyd, former president of Michigan Harness Horsemen's Association.

An article by mlive.com states that the lease covers two years, but can be extended to five. The cost of the lease will be $5,000 per month during the race season and $2,500 per month when there is no racing.

Mlive.com has reported that other moves have been made behind the scenes to see Jackson Harness Raceway become the sole track in the state to offer live Standardbred racing.
