Allen Kaplan, Ira Kaplan and David Sheib’s Lorrie Please surpassed $100,000 in seasonal earnings Tuesday with a 1:54.2 win in the featured $19,000 Mares Open Pace at Harrington Raceway over a 'sloppy' racetrack.
The Mike Hall-trainee surged by tiring pacesetter Jeremes Sweetheart at the top of the stretch and held off a late charge by Yagonnakissmeornot for a one-length win. Monochromatic was third.
It was the seventh win of the year for Lorrie Please, who was driven to victory by George Dennis. The six-year-old daughter of Western Ideal paid $8.40 to win.
Drivers Tony Morgan and Ross Wolfenden had three wins apiece. George Dennis, Allan Davis and Victor Kirby each had a double.
