Art I Special turned in his second consecutive victory against the top pacers at Inverness Raceway on Sunday afternoon with trainer Redmond Doucet in the sulky.

With the inside post advantage, eventual third place finisher Dannys Atthedance and Rod Gillis took the lead off the gate in the $1,000 Winners Over Pace and carved out fractions of :29, :58.1 and 1:28 while Art I Special and Doucet advanced first over from fourth. Art I Special wore down the leader in the stretch and opened up almost four lengths before hitting the wire in 1:57.3. The favourite paid $4.70 to win. Pocket-sitter Truth Or Dare and Ryan Campbell finished second.

Randy Copley's Artsplace gelding, who is now perfect in two Inverness starts, notched his fifth victory in 15 outings during his five-year-old campaign. He now boasts 24 victories on his lifetime record with earnings totalling $127,852.
