Only minor injuries were sustained by horses and drivers involved in an accident in Race 11 at Grand River Raceway on Friday evening

.

The incident occurred when Arch Rival (Robert Shepherd) broke stride coming into the last turn. Tropical Grey (Travis Henry) appeared to go over the arch of the bike of Arch Rival. Tropical Grey tripped and fell to the track, causing a chain reaction involving Barbrasboy (Dan O’Brian) and Arts Energizer (Ryan Holliday). Both Holliday and O’Brian were unseated. Tropical Grey was restrained on the track as his gear was removed. The other two horses were quickly caught and all horses and drivers left the racetrack under their own steam.

Tropical Grey sustained minor flesh abrasions and Henry reportedly went to the local hospital to have a cut on his leg examined and stitched.
