Driver Brett MacDonald was the star of the card at Georgian Downs on Saturday, winning five of the evening's eight races.
MacDonald picked up his first win of the night in the second race with pacing mare Sheilas Brush ($10.10) for trainer Ken Oliver then swept the back-half of the card.
After making a trip to the winner's circle with his own pacing mare Gypsy Merlot ($7.50), trained by his father Ron, he scored with the lightly raced three-year-old pacing filly Absolute Euphoria ($3) for trainer Dominic Gladu. The Freelton, Ont. reinsman guided veteran trotter Gloire Dream ($6.70) to victory lane next for the Francis Guillemette stable then capped off his five-win night with pacing mare Little T ($3.80), trained by his partner Taylor Fritz.
Coming off a career-year in 2022 with 328 wins and more than $2.5 million in purse earnings, MacDonald is in the midst of his sixth straight seven-figure season. The 2017 Future Star Award winner currently ranks among the top 10 drivers in Canada with his mounts having won 138 races and just over $1 million so far this year.
