Heart Issue For Top FFAer

Older pacer Rockincam, who did not finish in the Bettor's Delight at Tioga Downs last Sunday, was a victim of atrial fibrillation.

Rockincam will be given some additional time off as a precaution, but is expected to race again this season.

A five-year-old, Rockincam was in third place at the half-mile point of the Bettors Delight before dropping to the rear of the field. The atrial fibrillation, or irregular heartbeat, appeared to be caused by dehydration. Owner Steve Farrell said the pacer appears to have recovered well.

Rockincam, trained by Richard “Nifty” Norman, has won four of seven races this year, including the $200,000 Dan Patch Invitational, and earned $154,200 for Farrell, who also bred the horse.

The son of Cambest-Migraine has won 19 of 35 career starts and banked $497,975.
