Flick A Fly captured the $11,000 Mares Open Pace on Tuesday, June 14 at Running Aces.

Driver Rick Magee sent Flick A Fly charging out of the gate from Post 3. She had to work hard to clear Party Hangover Two for the lead, but she cleared to the point in the vicinity of the quarter pole, which was tripped in 29 seconds.

Flick A Fly paced strongly from there and cut the middle fractions in :59 and 1:28.1. She sealed her mile with a :28.1 final quarter and just held off Party Hangover Two, who was charging hard in deep stretch. The win time was 1:56.2 over a ‘sloppy’ track.

Flick A Fly is a homebred of Van Otterloo Stables that is trained by David Flynn. The five-year-old Voracious Hanover mare paid $6.60 to win and pushed her seasonal bankroll to $21,975.

The Tuesday program began under heavy rains and winds. The track took a lot of water, but the rain stopped roughly halfway through the card. The track drained quite well and track crew worked furiously all night long,

Drivers Rick Magee, and Nick Roland both posted driving triples on the program.

Running Aces’ next live card is scheduled to head to post this Saturday night (June 18) at 6:00 p.m. (CDT). The carryover for the 50-cent Jackpot Pick-6 is $9,685.38.
