Three Martinis, Bad Man Sam In DSBF Splits

Badlands Racing, George Teague and Gunjan Patel’s Three Martinis and Donald Leager’s Bad Man Sam each won their $20,000 respective Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) three-year-old pacing colt eliminations Wednesday at Harrington Raceway

Driven by Montrell Teague, Three Martinis ($2.10), a Three Olives colt, set all the fractions and held off a game Dyslexic to the wire in the faster elimination in 1:53. Ezy Passn was third. Three Martinis is trained by George Teague and has now won eight of 19 career starts.

Meanwhile, Bad Man Sam ($3.20) was a front-stepping winner over Lucky Land in his one length win, in 1:56.2 while Princeley Asset was third. Trained by Leager, Bad Man Sam has won half of his eight career starts. Allan Davis guided the Badlands Hanover son to victory.

The second leg of the DSBF events for pacing colts will take place Wednesday, June 22. The three-year-old trotters will compete in their second leg on Sunday, June 19.
