The Meadows has announced that beginning Saturday, June 18 it will expand its schedule of live racing to five cards each week with the addition of seven consecutive Saturday programs.
Saturday cards will offer a rich selection of stakes culminating in the July 23 eliminations for the $500,000 (est.) Delvin Miller Adios. The Adios will headline the track's July 30 program.
First post each Saturday is 12:55 p.m. with the exception of the July 23 program, which will get underway at 6:55 p.m.
Among the Saturday stakes (all purses estimated) are:
- June 25 — $200,000 Pennsylvania Sires Stakes for three-year-old trotting fillies;
- July 2 — $200,000 PASS for two-year-old pacing colts and geldings;
- July 16 — $200,000 PASS for three-year-old pacing colts and geldings;
- July 23 — Adios eliminations, each with a purse of $50,000; $200,000 PASS for two-year-old pacing fillies;
- July 30 — the $500,000 (est.) Adios and its $50,000 consolation; $225,000 Quinton Patterson Adioo Volo for three-year-old pacing fillies; $125,000 Gov. David L. Lawrence for two-year-old pacing colts and geldings.
On Tuesday, June 14, the Meadows staged its first event of the season for two-year-olds. Trace produced the sport’s fastest freshman pacer to date. Feelin Perfect reported home in a sparkling 1:56 and was a wire-to-wire winner from Post 7 off a 28-second final quarter mile. Dave Palone piloted the son of Feelin Friskie--Perfect Easter for trainer Guy Malone and owner Diana Lynn Malone.
