The top Invitational stars in Atlantic Canada will make their way to Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park for the Cecil Ladner Memorial Invitational on Saturday, June 15.

The 14-dash card starts at 6 p.m. with the $8,500 Cecil Ladner Memorial Invitational Pace lining up in Race 13.

Island Beach Boy has rail control in the field of nine with Brodie MacPhee in the bike for trainer Tom Weatherbie and owners Ian Smith and Arnold Hagen. The Somebeachsomewhere gelding was a winner his last start in Summerside in 1:54.2.

Roll Em (pictured above with driver Marc Campbell) holds down post two as the morning line favourite with a pair of wins his last two starts for co-owner and trainer Brent Campbell and co-owners Brady Doyle, Ryan MacLeod and Savage Stable.

Post three features Twin B Tuffenuff (Gilles Barrieau) from the Ron Matheson barn for owner Pat Morris of Charlottetown. The stallion has already won in 1:52.4 over Red Shores Charlottetown this season.

Middleton Terror has post four for trainer-driver David Dowling and owners Kingsley Walsh and Frank Balcom. The Stonebridge Terror gelding also sports a pair of wins in his last two.

Rollwithhottytoddy (Myles Heffernan Sr.) leaves from post five for owner-trainer Trevor Hicken.

All Bets On Tex (Adam Merner) has post six from the Jeff Lilley barn with the pacer showing a mark of 1:51.4 taken over Woodbine Mohawk Park earlier this year. Lilley co-owns with Blair MacLauchlan, Kent Livingston and Marc Gallant.

Batterup Hanover leaves from post seven for trainer-driver Paul Langille after winning his last start in 1:54.3 over Truro Raceway for owners Debbie Francis, Rosanne Langille, Doug Lowthers and Chantell Langille.

Fern Hill General (Corey MacPherson) is another entry from the Weatherbie barn for owners Peter Smith and Gerald Morrissey with post eight.

Blood Money (Ken Murphy) has the trailing post nine also from the Matheson barn for owner Dr. Mitchell Downey.

The Post Time Picks takes Roll Em to win again: “Roll Em took control early last week and never looked back going coast to coast and scoring over an off track. We’re wagering Campbell will be firing off the wings and if he does get to boss it from the hop it could seal the deal.”

Race 5 is the P.E.I. Humane Society Pace, with Avatar J the favourite from post five for driver Campbell and trainer Darren Smith.
