Mac Deeno wore down the leader, Mike The Trader, with a sustained uncovered bid and went on to victory in Wednesday’s feature, a $13,000 conditioned trot, at The Meadows.
Mac Deeno was fifth by five lengths when Tony Hall tipped him off the cones. He collared Mike The Trader at the top of the lane and downed him by two and a quarter lengths in a career-fastest 1:54.2. Classic Banker finished third.
Rich Gillock trains Mac Deeno, a four-year-old son of Broadway Hall-Macdeena, for owner/breeder Bob Key.
Dan Charlino and Mike Wilder each collected three wins on the 12-race card.
