Brad Hanners was a winning machine at Harrington Raceway on Monday, as the sulky sitter’s productive day at the office included six trips to victory lane
.
Hanners notched his first win of the day in Race 2 with Fox Valley Ajax, who got up to win by a neck in 1:55.3 for trainer Christopher Short. He was back to the winner’s circle just two races later with Mainland Key N following that one’s five-length triumph in 1:54.3.
Fields Of Honour A’s 1:52.1 triumph in Race 5 gave Hanners the hat trick, but he wasn’t about to rest on his laurels. He took Race 8 with Captain Casey, who prevailed in 1:55.1, and then came right back to capture Race 9 with Raylees Eldorado in 1:57.4. Friendship Dance prevailed by a nose in Race 11, and her 1:57.1 tally pushed Hanners’ win total to six.
The six-win performance lifted Hanners’ 2010 win total to 129 while his lifetime haul climbed to 4,139. To date, Hanners has sat behind winners in excess of $33 million, and he has managed to bank more than $1 million in earnings in each of the last 14 seasons.
