Seventy-five-year-old Ron Topping brought his 'A' game to the track on Sunday at Dresden Raceway as he
guided Buckshot to victory from post eight.
Topping brought Buckshot to the outside just before the half to challenge front runner JJ Barrister and Brad Forward. The two battled down the backside and JJ Barrister came back on to a one-length lead past the three quarter pole but Buckshot rallied back on the outside and held off a charging Justbotacadillac and Chris Johnston for the win.
The seven-year-old Revolver gelding, who is owned and trained by Topping, trotted the mile in 2:07.4.
Brad Forward won three races today to push his season leading total to 13. Kevin Wallis is in hot pursuit as Wallis also won thee today to give him 11 wins on the season.
