Trained and driven by Shane Weber, eight-year-old Angus Hall trotter Adam T went wire-to-wire to win for the fifth consecutive time, by nearly nine lengths, in the $14,000 Preferred 2 Trot featured at Georgian Downs
on Saturday.
The 3-5 favourite left from Post 4 and built up an 8-3/4 length lead on the field as he trotted past stations of :27, :56.2 and 1:25.4, and then tripped the timer in 1:55.3. Canbec Fridolin (Scott Zeron) rallied from the backfield to place while Connected Yankee (Paul MacKenzie) inherited the show dough as Muscleloha (Tony Kerwood) was placed back to ninth for failing to lose ground while on a break.
Adam T paid $3.20 for his fifth victory in six seasonal starts. The winner of $54,000 this year and $487,201 lifetime is owned and bred by Thomas and Elizabeth Rankin of St. Catharines, ON.
