Truro Raceway rolled out the red carpet for three-year-old pacing fillies on Sunday afternoon as they clashed in divisions of the Atlantic Sires Stakes.

Yankee Dancer stepped to a career-best clocking of 1:59 in the first of three $7,810 “A” divisions for the tandem of driver Philip Hodgson and trainer Margo Fisher. The daughter of Coastocoast Yankee-Pillar Of Strength, who was sent off as the 3-2 choice, chopped out splits of :29.4, 1:00.1 and 1:29.4 before using a :29.1 final frame to finish off her foes. She was 1-1/4 lengths better than Forthena, with Force Of Fire finishing third.

Garnet Taylor of Durham Bridge, NB holds the papers on the youngster, who is now 3-for-3 to start the season after going 2-for-6 in her rookie campaign. She has banked in excess of $14,000 to date.

Moon Landing also took home a new lifetime mark in the second division, and in doing so she improved her 2011 record to three wins in as many tries for owner/trainer Patrick Eastwood of Saint John, NB. Danny Romo worked out a perfect trip in the two-hole for the daughter of Quick Comeback-Igiantstpfrpankind, who tracked Acton Normal through intervals of :28.3, :58 and 1:28 before using a :29.4 final quarter to post the win by 1-3/4 lengths over Acton Normal. Bemused grabbed the show dough.

The six-time winner, who hit the board in eight of her 11 starts as a rookie, now boasts a career bankroll just shy of $30,000.

Honey Do Jigtime matched her lifetime mark thanks to a 1:59.3 score in come-from-behind fashion in the final division. The daughter of Coastocoast Yankee-Gold Luck overcame an interference break shortly after the start en route to rallying to the quarter-length decision over Ultimate Spirit for trainer/driver Clare MacDonald. Acton Noisey set most of the pace before fading late and settling for third prize.

Sent off as the 1-5 favourite in the six-filly affair, Honey Do Jigtime improved her 2011 record to 2-1-0 in three tries. The six-time winner has stashed away more than $27,000 in lifetime earnings for the partnership of Morah Kerr of Greenfield and Phonsie MacEachern of Port Hood, NS.

The half-miler also featured a pair of $2,500 “B” divisions, with top honours in those tilts going to Sunnysidegal (2:02.2) and Hushs Funny Girl (2:01.2).
